Revision3 Brings Hak5 Into the Fold

on August 14th, 2008 at 12:04 pm by Jim Louderback in Announcements, Shows

Although we’ve been expanding the topics we cover here at Revision3, we always have a sweet spot for the hard core tech. It’s where we came from, and SYSTM and Tekzilla are still among our biggest shows. So when I met the guys from the popular online video show Hak5 at our NY Diggnation in June, naturally the conversation steered towards hooking up.

And hook up we did! I’m pleased to announce that Hak5 is coming over to Revision3, and will join our stable of oustanding online video programming. The three year old program will debut here the week of September 8th, and even more exciting for existing fans: it’s moving from monthly to weekly!

It’s been an interesting summer for Hak5. Their studios were flooded back in the spring, which resulted in a completely new set. The good news is that they built out an amazing area to shoot in, which should add even more depth and visual interest to the show.

We’re glad to have them on board. Please join me in welcoming the team from Hak5 to Revision3! I can’t wait to see the first episode (I hear it involves a pineapple, but that’s all I’ll say).

great. hak5 is an awesome show (fan from the old ages) and revision3 is an awesome network.
after hak5 was mentioned during the diggnation meetup video, one could sense, they’d join the network. :)

Does this mean Tekzilla will be canceled now? Cause you know tekzilla is a loving knock off of Hak5 with no technolust

Those bitches stole hak5 red brickwalls

Just wanna say congrats to both HAK5 and Rev3 for the partnership (http://www.hak5.org/backstage/hak5-joins-revision3).

HAK5 is a great show and it will be great to see it in better quality and with a more regular schedule.

I am curious how it will affect HAK5 Live and how deep the hacking will go.

I don’t see hak5 interfering with tekzilla as tekzilla is aimed at people that don’t know how to use computers, whereas hak5 is for geeks.

This is awesome news. I’ve been a fan of Hak5 for over a year. I was wondering what their next step was going to be. Systm, Tekzilla and now Hak5?! I don’t have to watch network TV anymore. Ok maybe Burn Notice….

Questions. It doesn’t look like Wes is part of the show anymore. Is he out of the picture? Are they going to shoot this at the Hak house or are they moving to San Fran to the Rev3 studios?

    Hak5Matt Says:

Wess has officially resigned from the show.
Us partnering with Revision3 has nothing to do with his decision, and we wish him well.

We’re still going to be on the East Coast, while we would love to shoot at the Rev3 studios, this is not yet a full time job for us.

We’ll be doing a live show to answer our viewer questions regarding the epic announcement, more info can be found at http://www.hak5.org
