Big superhero movies are not the only comic book properties out. This week, iFanboy takes a look at some of the great comics that have been made into films.
We just experienced the summer of the action packed superhero movie, but making films from comics has been going on for a while now. What's more, many people didn't even know the movies were spawned from comics. In this episode, Josh, Ron, and Conor show you some of the comic book work behind the feature films.
Whiteout isn't quite out yet, but that doesn't mean that you can't check out the excellent comic it was adapted from, by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber.
The Crow was a huge film based on a huge indie comic of the same name.
American Splendor was an amazing movie based on the collective work of the legendary Harvey Pekar, as well as artists like R. Crumb.
Ghost World is a cult film from a cult comic. While the tone is the same, there are completely different stories from the movie, so you can have more!
One big budget picture from a small budget graphic novel was Road to Perdition.
Finally, the movie A History of Violence started off like like the graphic novel, but the story ended up quite different.

i agree that Oldboy is faster paced and that it has a great ending, but i think Sympathy has a more chilling ending.
Lady Vengeance is the most inferior of the series, but i think it is a very solid movies. i haven't seen it in a while. but i plan on re-watching it. if my opinion changes, i'll let you know

Your entitled to your opinion, but for me Old Boy is superior. It was more fast pace than Mr Vengence and had a sick ending. What was your opinion on lady vengece though

The realy cool thing about that fight scene is that it was Old Boy with his hammer vs the thirty guys with knives and bats and it was a five minute figth scene filmed in one take. Plus the ending is a real mind uck. You did not see it coming

I recently saw that--the ending was kinda "bleh," but it was awesome--I espicially loved the scene where the guy kicks, like, 30 people's asses in the hallway.

Old Boy was a great movie. It is honestly one of the best revenge movies of all time.

nice show guys. Old Boy was also a movie that was inspired from a manga. there were some changes but that's worth checking out if you guys are gonna do another show about this topic.

"I thought I was the only one who thought that with "A History of Violence." I also definately agree that the movie is far better.
I think what makes it better is that the movie is more realistic with the plot. Since you guys already pretty much mentioned it, I'll continue--in the book, we find out that the main character really was a former mob enforcer, and his family, espicially his wife, were fully supporting him. In the movie, however, we see the, I think, justifiable reaction of distrust--I imagine that it would be hard to take that your spouce or your parent was a killer, lied to you for all those years, and makes you wonder just what else he or she has been hiding."
A History of Violence is a classic movie. i have never read the book, but from the sounds of it, it looks like they made the right changes

I'm sure it helped but I don't really think it turned it into a success.
